Costa Ricans are known for their love of biodiversity and nature! As such, the country is a leader in conservation. This makes Costa Rica the ideal place for animal and nature lovers to receive hands-on training in the field.
This conservation & rehabilitation course will bring you to Golfo Dulce—a tropical fjord where the rainforest and the ocean meet.
This environment gives learners a unique opportunity for hands-on conservation training! Participants will also gain real-world experience in wildlife rehabilitation and reintroduction.
Golfo Dulce and the land surrounding it is a unique home to hundreds of species of bird, humpback whales, turtles, snakes, sharks, sloths, monkeys, and so much more.
What Skills Will You Learn?
As part of this conservation & rehabilitation course, you could do any or all of the following in a given day:
- Wildlife surveys at dawn
- Monitoring animal populations
- Setting up camera traps to see how animals adapt and interact with their new environment
- Studying tropical biodiversity
- Learning conservation techniques
…all while living in a remote field station in Costa Rica!
This Program Is For You If…
- You’re a university student or early-career professional in the conservation field. This includes but is not limited to those who have studied Biology, Zoology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Wildlife Conservation & Management, Marine Biology & Coastal Ecosystem Conservation.
- You’re a working professional and want to strengthen your practical skills or gain knowledge of tropical ecosystems.
- Individuals looking for a career change who have a strong interest in pursuing a career in wildlife conservation.
How Long Is This Course?
Over the course of eight weeks, you’ll complete 280 hours of immersive fieldwork!
The course consists of three modules diving into ecology, field techniques, wildlife conservation, wildlife rehabilitation, reintroduction techniques, and more.
